I know a lot of people are worried about the Pokémon Trainer Club going down.
The gym, a little more than 200km west of Townsville, has been closed since July after the State Government refused to allow it to reopen.
But the Pokemon trainers are getting a lot more than that, as the club has launched a new mobile app to help them catch their favourite Pokemon and get rid of the hassle of leaving it behind.
It has also been announced that Pokemon trainer clubs will be offered free to anyone who uses the app, with a $5,000 deposit to be made at the door.
“Pokémon trainers in Townsville are in the midst of a very tough time,” said Pokemon trainer Paul Crouch.
Mr Crouch says he has spent the last week training to become a trainer in the gym.
He said he had been able to catch two of his favourite Pokemon, Mewtwo and Mew, while catching another, Pidgeotto.
“The app has given me a lot to focus on, it’s made me feel like I can actually do something,” he said.
If you can’t wait for the gym to reopen, you can also download the app for free and start playing Pokemon.
With the app in hand, Mr Crouch has taken his Pokemon to his girlfriend in the Townsville CBD, where he is now training to catch her own Pokemon.
“I’m definitely a little bit happier than I have ever been, and it’s nice to be able to do something to make me feel better,” he told News.au.

He hopes to be one of the first to catch a Pokemon and start training with it.
As for his Pokémon, he said he was excited about catching one.
“If I’m able to get a Pidgeot and catch a Mewtwo I’m going to love the next day, I’ve been a little slow on the uptake,” he joked.
